We’ve served Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs since our practice was originally established in the 1920s. Formerly known as Brunswick East Dental Studio, our refreshed name, Adawn, heralds an exciting new era for the practice – but we remain grounded in our long history of serving the local community.

Dr Angelos Sourial

“Being a dentist is about making a difference to people’s lives.”
Adawn’s Principal Dentist Dr Angelos Sourial, who was originally drawn to dentistry for its ability to combine his love of science and passion for art, while allowing him to work with his hands and help people. He has practised as a dentist since 2004, when he received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction from New Zealand’s University of Otago.
Since moving to Melbourne in 2006, Dr Sourial has practised comprehensive family and cosmetic dentistry, garnering a loyal patient base in the process. In 2010, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Implants) at the University of Melbourne and a few years ago was appointed President of the Victorian Branch of the Australasian Osseointegration Implant Society.
A big believer in patient-centred care, Dr Sourial goes out of his way to ensure the comfort of his patients. Whether it’s helping someone eat comfortably again or regain a smile they can be proud of, he is driven by the prospect of improving people’s lives.
Outside of Adawn, Dr Sourial has taught at Melbourne Dental School and has participated in dental research projects in Australia and New Zealand (including the Australian Dental Association’s eviDent project on implant complications). He seeks out more than triple the required hours of continuing education each year, enabling him to stay up-to-date on the latest dental trends and technology. And, he is also a facilitator of the Spear Education Study Club in Victoria.

Dr Renato Simionato has been a mainstay at Adawn for almost 40 years. Guided by a philosophy of patient-centred, precision dentistry, Dr Simionato says every day at work is exciting and rewarding. He has practised as a dentist since 1983, when he received his Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne. In 2008, he was recognised as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD) for his contribution to dentistry.
As someone who regularly attends courses locally, interstate and overseas, Dr Simionato is passionate about continuing his education outside of Adawn. He sees this education as a vital component of the practice’s promise of offering the highest quality care available. He is also a member of several dental organisations, both in Australia and overseas.
Outside of Adawn, Dr Simionato enjoys woodworking, gardening, travelling and working on projects in his shed at home.

“My goal is always to create a positive experience for my patients, especially those who are particularly anxious about dental treatment.”
Dr Jesse Liang enjoys all aspects of his profession but has a special interest in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, Orthodontics, and clear aligners. Dr Liang has a calm and friendly demeanor, with a special knack for ensuring even the most anxious patients feel relaxed and at ease in his care. Graduating from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and a Masters of Dentistry in 2019, he enjoys his continuing education and is studying a post graduate qualification in Orthodontics.
Outside of Adawn, Jesse enjoys playing guitar, recording music, and participating in dental volunteering programs. Dr Jesse is also the Host and Founder of the Odontojam Podcast, a platform for Dentists to learn from dental experts.

Dr Megan Ha is known for her calm, friendly manner and meticulous approach to her work. Graduating from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and a Masters of Dentistry in 2019, she enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a keen eye for details and aesthetics.
Dr Ha is particularly talented at helping patients overcome their fear of visiting the dentist. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, she enjoys guiding patients towards a better understanding of their oral health and treatment options.
Outside of Adawn, you’ll find Dr Ha experimenting in the kitchen as a keen baker, home cook and food photographer. She’s also a talented pianist, attaining an Associate Diploma in Music in 2011.

Dr Sath Sivaananthan is known for his patient centred approach. Understanding the needs of his patients is something Sath ensures is at the forefront of his mind when providing advice and dental treatment. Since graduating in 2014, Sath has earned the trust of patients through his meticulous approach and high standard of care. For Sath, it is simply not only about resolving the short term needs of patients but also ensuring the long-term success and maintenance of their oral health. With a keen interest in surgery and restorative dentistry, Sath continues to expand his knowledge and skillset through continued education to ensure patients are given the very best in dental treatment.
Outside of dentistry, Sath leads a healthy and active lifestyle. He is a huge fan of sports particularly basketball and rugby league and is always in the loop with the latest sports news across the globe.
Ms Hira Shah

Hira, an Oral Health Therapist at Adawn, graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Melbourne in 2019, Hira prides herself on delivering a high standard of care to all her patients – children and adults alike.
Hira’s practices demonstrate a strong focus on holistic, evidence based, preventive and minimally invasive dentistry. Hira’s gentle and thorough approach to dental hygiene makes her well-suited to treating patients of all ages, as well as those with dental anxiety and other additional needs. She focuses on patient-centred care and enjoys working in collaboration with her patients to help educate and motivate them to achieve optimal oral health, function, and aesthetics.
Hira’s clinical interests include periodontal therapy, guided biofilm therapy, and children’s dentistry. She constantly seeks to improve her skillset by participating in ongoing professional development courses.
Outside of Adawn Dental, Hira is a strong advocate for oral health promotion at kindergartens and works as part of the Victorian Government’s Smile Squad school dental vans initiative. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading a book on the beach, exploring the great outdoors, and taking a stroll through Melbourne’s laneways, parks, and cafés. Hira also engages in local volunteer opportunities such as the Teddy Bear Hospital and Good Friday Appeal.
